Happy Halloween weekend!
Well, we all know what happens after this weekend, right?  It's full speed ahead to Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year!  I can hardly believe it's already that time of year.  I hope all the kids have a great time trick-or-treating tomorrow night.  The weather is supposed to be just right!
We have so many things going on here at the church and community.  Tomorrow is the Halloween Festival at La Foret.  Next weekend is our church Garage Sale.  And this Sunday, we kick off our Stewardship campaign.  Tom Putney will lead service and present to us the concept of stewardship and the many ways in which we can be "Stewards in Mission."  This worship will coincide with All Saints' Day where you will be able to come forward and light a candle in memory of loved one that has passed.
Please make sure to join us on Sunday.  Right after service, come downstairs for some cookies and coffee and take a sneak peek at all the items we have for our Garage Sale.  Psst!  We won't turn you away if you feel like buying something that catches your eye!
Have a safe weekend!

Good Morning!
I am so happy the sun decided to pay us a visit again!  Can't get enough of the Colorado sunshine.
This Sunday at worship, we will have a special service, bidding a farewell to Daniel & Fern Imbody before they move back to Pennsylvania.  We will all miss their hospitality and home-cooked meals during fellowship for certain.  But what better way for us to give back to them, than to provide a potluck they soon will not forget! Immediately after fellowship, please join us for an East Coast/Pennsylvania style potluck.  Please bring your food items to share this Sunday.
Another reason this Sunday is so special is that four new members will be received to our wonderful church!  Please make sure you join us for worship this week to partake in both of these occasions.  Many other events and occasions are just around the corner as well!  Please be sure to read this week's Footprints for all the details you need to know.
We will see you on Sunday.  Have a great weekend!

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you had the chance to enjoy the gorgeous fall weather we've been having lately.  This Sunday, Pastor Diane returns from her mini-vacation!  A new member class will be held in the log building following worship.
It's been a quiet week, but things are gearing up again with the upcoming Halloween Festival at La Foret.  If you haven't had a chance to sign up for items needed for the event, please make sure you do this Sunday.  All the sign-up sheets are located in the Narthex.  And if you purchased any candy, but are afraid you will be tempted to eat the whole bag, don't be!  Out of sight out of mind!  Bring it here to donate for the kids on Halloween!
Before we know it, the garage sale we are holding is also just around the corner!  Are you still dragging your feet to do some "spring cleaning?"  We won't tell anyone that you changed the name to "fall cleaning!"  Bring your old or like-new belongings to us and we will sell them at the sale.  All proceeds will go toward the general fund.
And last but not least, we have included some food suggestions in this week's Footprints, that many of you have been scratching your heads about, for the Imbodys' going away luncheon on October 25.  The theme is East Coast/Pennsylvania cooking.  The list will help you figure out what that theme means, to those of you born and raised out West!  If you are willing to help out with this, please make sure you reply to Debbie Putney, who is coordinating the event.  Details are inside.
Please have yourselves a wonderful weekend!  We will see you this Sunday at worship.

Happy Friday,
Wow, that was a quick week!  I went back east and luckily did not encounter hurricane Joaquin, as it went out to sea.  Unfortunately, the Carolina's weren't so lucky.  It's so tragic to see all the flooding happening, even as we speak.  Let's all say a prayer for those affected.
This Sunday, as Pastor Diane will be out of town, two lay leaders will conduct worship this week: Lance Haverkamp and Jon McGrew.  And afterward, please join us for fellowship as the Diaconate committee will have some good eats for us to enjoy!
Halloween is just around the corner, so please be sure to read up on what you can donate or how you can help out with this year's Halloween Festival at La Foret.  Also, please be sure to read up on some more details about our upcoming garage sale.
This weekend's weather is going to be beautiful, so be sure to go out and view the fall foliage before it all goes away.   We'll see you all on Sunday!

Footprints Newsletter

Good Thursday Morning!
You are receiving your Footprints newsletter one day early because I am heading out of town this afternoon.  I will be reuniting with good friends over the weekend back east and chasing hurricanes….or should I say, running away from Hurricane Joaquin before it hits!  Hopefully I make it back home in time!  Please keep all the people on the east coast and Bahamas in your prayers.
Inside this week's newsletter you will find more details about our Fall Workday, this Saturday and how you can help or what you can bring!  Also, please be sure to join us this Sunday to celebrate Jo Wasson's birthday!  I will not be here, so please be sure to wish Jo a Happy Birthday for me and eat a piece of cake in my place (I can never pass up a piece of cake).
There are other important dates to write down, so be sure to read up on this week's news.
Have a wonderful, dry, weekend!
