Happy Friday!
Ahhh, spring snow!  Almost reminds me of winter out there today.  The one positive thing about it is how beautiful it looks and our trees and plants get to drink lots of water and begin to blossom.  I like to call our springs "sprinter!"
We have some very exciting news.  Rev. Susan Hartley, who was here to preach at the beginning of April has accepted to become our Interim Minister and she will be preaching this Sunday, Communion Sunday!
Despite the weather, our Spring Garage Sale will still be happening tomorrow from 7-2.  Did you happen to take a sneak peak and had your eye on something special?  Well, by all means, come on down tomorrow!  Hardesty Hall is packed full of your donations.  Thank you!  You would not believe the amount of items that have been donated and the quality of them.  Make a day of it!  Come here first then go across the street to the Black Forest Community Center for their annual craft fair.  Or if you were planning on going there, make sure you stop here too!  Tell your friends.  All items must go!!
Have a safe and wonderful weekend and be sure to come Sunday to welcome Rev. Susan Hartley!

Footprints Newletter

Happy Friday!
What a gorgeous day it is.  It's days like these that more than make up for the few blizzards and cold days we get here in Colorado.  Nothing beats our beautiful climate!
We have a lot going on in the next week or two.  First, as you may already know from yesterday's email that went out, that Spring Work Day has been rescheduled to May 7th.  If you are still free tomorrow however, we could still use your help moving garage sale items from 11:00 – 12:30.  Also, this Sunday, we welcome Jen Baker as our guest speaker.  She will be delivering the message during worship and is always so interesting to listen to!  And once you get your fill during worship, save room for some Tanzanian treats downstairs for Kay & Lynn Stricklan's Tanzanian Feast!
Also, please note that this week will be your last chance to drop off items for the garage sale.  We will be accepting donations during office hours all week and you can drop them off in the basement of the church.
I sure hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend and we will see you on Sunday!

Spring Work Day Update

Due to the amount of snow and wet conditions around the church property, we are postponing our Spring Work Day from this Saturday to Saturday, May 7th.

However, we still need able-bodies to come help Cindy and Debbie move all the garage sale items out of the log building to Hardesty Hall from 11:00-12:30 this Saturday.  This would be a perfect time to bring your donations as well!!

If you can help on Spring Work Day, May 7th, please respond to this email.

Thanks and have a great day!

Worship Cancelled

Hello All,

Due to the severe weather, there will be no Sunday worship tomorrow, April 17th.  We hope you all are able to stay inside today this weekend.  If not, please stay safe.

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning!
I hope everyone is having a great day so far and beating the mad rush to the grocery store before the big "spring" storm blows in overnight and most of the weekend!  Oh well, it is Colorado after all!
Tomorrow our volunteers will be headed to the National Mill Dog Rescue.  Beware, if you signed up, you might have the urge to adopt a new best friend!  Also, on Sunday, we invite Rev. Darlene Avery as our guest pastor!  She was here late 2014 as a guest pastor so you might already be familiar with her, but if not, please be sure to introduce yourself after service.
Next Saturday is our annual Spring Work Day.  If you are interested in helping out, you can read about what we need done inside your newsletter, as well as review the schedule which is attached to this email and contact Michael Ketch if you wish to sign up to volunteer.
Remember, our Spring Garage Sale is coming up fast.  We have received many of your donations already, but would love more of your junk!  Not too many people can say that and mean it!  You can drop those items off anytime during office hours, or on Sunday.
I hope you stay safe and warm!  We will see you on Sunday!

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning Everyone!
I hope you are having a pleasant Friday morning.  This week, you will notice an additional attachment to this email.  The first is your weekly Footprints Newsletter, the second is a Behavioral Emergency Plan.  Please see details below of why you are receiving it.
This Sunday, I hope you plan on coming to worship.  Why you ask?  Because our Youth will be leading the entire service. They have been practicing very hard and are ready to get up in front of the congregation in prayer and song! Approximately 15 minutes after service, if you wish, join us for a congregational coffee chat to discuss topics related to our church.  But first, be sure to fill your plates and cups with food and drink! Details are in your newsletter.
There are several events or opportunities coming up within our church, and some are happening this week, so make sure to read up and see which ones are appealing to you.  One of the dates listed on the BFCC calendar is April 23rd, which is our church Spring Clean Day.  Please email Michael Ketch at mketch@ford.com for requests of things you see around the church grounds that need to be worked on by our volunteers so he can add them to the list.  And at noon that Saturday, Cindy Halsey will need all volunteers to bring the donated items for the garage sale from the Log Building to Hardesty Hall.  If you are handy, or just like to help, please consider volunteering that day!

Have a fabulous weekend and we will see you at worship on Sunday – Youth Sunday!

Members of BFCC

In an attempt to ensure the safety of our members in a behavioral emergency at church, members of the church have created a Behavioral Emergency Plan to share with all members in the case an event was to occur.

The attachment in the email gives an overview what a behavioral emergency plan is, examples of situations which could occur and how to protect those within the congregation if an event of this magnitude was to occur.

Please read through the plan and forward any questions to Michael Ketch (mketch@ford.com) if they arise.

In an upcoming Sunday service, Michael will discuss the overview of the plan and we will run a small test together to ensure all buildings are clear on the plan, communication and execute the plan as such.  There will be an Usher folder with the details available to take the lead if an event was to occur.

Thanks for all of your help in this matter.

Michael Ketch

Happy April Fools Day!
I am back from my family vacation to Florida, which included a nice stay on the beach and a fun time with the family in Disney World!  Boy am I glad we live without humidity here in Colorado.  It not only makes you cranky, but gives you bad hair days, every day!  A highlight while we were there was seeing the NASA rocket launch in the evening on the beach, as we were very near Cape Canaveral!  I hope you all weathered the blizzard while I was gone.  I timed my vacation just right! Phew!
Enough about me!  We have some exciting things going on here at the church and you will be able to read all about them in this week's newsletter.  First, and foremost, please welcome our guest pastor this Sunday, Rev. Susan Hartley.  She is happy to be with us this week and we are happy to have her!  Please make sure you introduce yourselves to her.
This Wednesday is family night so please make sure to join us then.  Also, if you haven't already began going through your closets and garages, you might want to start.  Our garage sale is happening here on April 30th!  It will be here sooner than we know it.  There are also some other important dates you need to save for upcoming seminars, events and volunteer opportunities, so be sure to open up your attachment and be informed.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!  See you at worship on Sunday.
