Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning Everyone!
There's a lot of things happening in our little church in the coming days and weeks!
The first thing is that our worship at La Foret is THIS SUNDAY!  In case you have read in previous Footprints articles that it was on August 7th, please note that is has been moved to this Sunday, July 31st!  We wouldn't want you to miss out!
Secondly, we will continue our tradition of having a sack lunch near the dining hall on the grounds of La Foret immediately following worship.  So whether its' a sack lunch you made at home, or a Subway sandwich you bought, make sure you bring it with you so you can enjoy the fresh outdoors in the forest with your friends!
Thirdly, we are kindly asking for donations and volunteers!  Find out what and how by opening your Footprints Newsletter for more details.
And speaking of volunteering, Black Forest Together has projects scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday, July 30th and Next Tuesday, August 2nd.  They need chipper operators for both days, and a crew of six hearty and willing slash throwers.  If you are available and able, please email Donna Arkowski, Volunteer Coordinator at darkkorch@msn.com or 719-495-2892.
There's no shortage of opportunities to give back to our church and community this month!  And remember, Relay for Life will take place next Saturday, August 6th!
We look forward to seeing you in the forest on Sunday at La Foret!  La Foret entrance can be found .7 miles, just west of our church on Shoup Road.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning All!
Kids, are you ready for school?  Parents, I bet you are!  Time flies when you're having fun in the summer.  I wish it would last forever (the weather….not the kids being home ALL the time!).  All jokes aside, I do love my kids dearly.
This week in your Footprints Newsletter, I would like to make a correction as the date of our worship at La Foret is NOT on August 7th, as it is written.  The new date is NEXT Sunday, July 31st.  Please mark this down on your calendars.  We wouldn't want you to miss the wonderful experience of worshiping at the Chapel at La Foret.  It is such a beautiful and magical place.
Also in this week's newsletter is an invitation and information for the installation of our Rocky Mountain Conference, UCC, Conference Minister, Rev. Sue Artt, which is also planned to take place on the beautiful grounds of La Foret.  More information not listed in Footprints can be found on the bulletin board in Hardesty Hall in case you are interested in attending.
Our August mission is to both help our church AND First Step Preschool.  A list of what items are needed is in your Footprints, and a bin is in the Narthex to drop off those items.  Your help is always appreciated!
Lastly,  if you missed last Sunday's service, as I did, a transcript of Steve Murtagh's inspiring and thought-provoking message titled "Change is Difficult" is also attached for your convenience to print off and read.  I regret not hearing him in person, but it is a must-read!
Enjoy!  And as always, have a fantastic weekend and we will see you on Sunday at Worship. Rev. Susan Hartley returns!

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning All!
I hope everyone on vacation is fully enjoying themselves!  Unfortunately, those vacations will have to come to an end soon.  Summer is almost over for some school children already.  Hard to believe!  But just because school begins shortly doesn't mean your summer memories have to end so soon.  We still have a lot of fun things to keep you busy during August!
In this week's newsletter you will find important dates to write down.  As you all may know, the Black Forest Festival is only four weeks away!  Please make sure to come join in on our meeting this next Wednesday, July 20th at 5:30 p.m. to share ideas for our part in the festival.  This year's festival theme is "The Wild West."
Also, please note, we are in need of donations such as water bottles and more items for the garage sale that will held during the festival.
Speaking of donations, below is a list of recyclable items that First Step Preschool is in need of.  These items will be collected throughout August.  A container will be available to drop off your donations at church.  Or you can drop them off anytime during office hours.  Your help is always appreciated!
Sand paper
egg cartons
empty food containers
magazines
material scraps
yarn
empty water bottles
coffee cans

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning!
I hope you are all able to get outside before more thunderstorms come out to play!  Summer is no doubt living up to its expectations.  Thank goodness for air conditioners and pools, because it has been very hot lately…not complaining, not complaining!  I am just thankful that we live in a state with very low humidity!
A memorial service for Kevin Natelli will be held here tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.  Once again, please keep Margaret Natelli and her entire family in your prayers.
There are a few new announcements inside this week's newsletter.  Please see inside for more information about the upcoming Relay for Life and the Black Forest Festival.  See how you can donate, participate and volunteer.
Please have a wonderful weekend!  Rev. Susan Hartley returns this Sunday for Communion Sunday at 10:00 a.m.  Hope to see you there!

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning All!
July 1st!  I cannot believe July came so quick.  Seems like I was shoveling my driveway yesterday. I also can't believe today marks my two year anniversary here at Black Forest Community Church!  I have weathered the storms, but most importantly, made some wonderful friends, as well as my children have.  And for that, I am blessed!  Thank you, BFCC for being so kind and wonderful to me and my family.
Sadly, you may have heard that Margaret Natelli's son, Kevin, lost his battle with cancer this week.  This disease has affected so many.  It has affected my family as well and I pray for a cure.  Which brings me to an article about the upcoming Relay for Life, hosted by the Simonoff family.  Please consider joining or donating to this important cause.  Details are inside.  Our hearts go out to Margaret and her family.
Please be sure to come worship on Sunday at 10 a.m. and be in for a special treat!  Nick Kneebone is our guest speaker.  We never know what he may say, but what we do know for sure, is that we will be entertained and enlightened.
I hope you and yours have a safe and wonderful Fourth of July!
God Bless America!
