Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning,
It feels like a fall day today!  I guess someone spilled the beans that kids are back in school and we are getting ready for fall, which is right around the corner!
Inside this week's newsletter, find out more information on our annual gleaning trip to Alamosa, when our next Family Night and Youth Group meet again, and get some advice from a "TREE."  Which is funny, because that was my nick-name growing up, but I can't take credit for it, unfortunately.  Good advice, nonetheless!
We hope you join us for worship this Sunday.  Randy Simonoff will be our guest speaker, focusing on "love" and Lance Haverkamp will be leading worship.
And last but not least, check out the article that was written in the RoMoCo (Rocky Mountain Conference) Newsletter, which is also attached.  It talks about our part in the Black Forest Festival.  And the picture featured has a little girl I might know and some other familiar faces in the background!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  We will see you at worship on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day so far and ready to look for those jackets and sweatpants in your closets for this weekend.  Looks like there is going to be a "cold front" coming…meaning 70-something degrees.  BRRR!
Attached is your weekly Footprints newsletter.  This may be the shortest email I have written so far because I only have two words:
Rally Sunday!!

This Sunday, Rally Sunday, we will kick off Sunday school once again!  To celebrate everyone coming back from being in the summer vacation mode, we are have a BBQ immediately following worship.  Burgers and hot dogs will be provided, but we ask the congregation to bring a side dish to share!
?I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend and we will see you on Sunday, RALLY SUNDAY!?

Footprints Newsletter

Howdy friends,
Need something to do this weekend?  Have no fear, the Black Forest Festival is here!  Yes, tomorrow, please come join us in our parking lot to help or simply enjoy everything we have to offer.
Last year's festival in our parking lot was very successful, and I expect it may be more so this year with the "Wild West" theme going on and around the entire festival.  So make sure you bring your boots and cowboy hats and be ready to dance…have you heard that there will even be an evening barn dance at the community center?  Well, if you haven't, you need to read your attached newsletter to find out what else you haven't heard about!  Please see inside for a schedule of events.
Other notable dates coming up are for the Lunch Bunch and Rally Sunday & BBQ!  We can't wait to see you tomorrow at the festival beginning at 6:30 a.m.  A pancake breakfast will kick off the festivities across the street, yum!
Have a great weekend, now, ya hear?  And and make sure you get enough rest to join us for worship at 10:00 on Sunday!

Footprints Newsletter

Good Morning!
Ok, summer is nice, but so is a break from the heat!  Am I right? Just as long as the break doesn't include white stuff everywhere, I'm ok with that!
Inside this week's Footprints, you will notice a trend:  Donations, volunteers and more donations are needed!  Yes, we need you!!  The Black Forest Festival in our parking lot is going to be one happening place and we need many of you to make this a success!  We also need donations.  A list can be found in your newsletter.  Please, if you can help with any donations, you may bring them in by this Sunday, or Monday morning from 9:00 – noon in Hardesty Hall.
Also, don't forget our preschool!  Let's help our new director, Kristi, in getting our preschool in tip-top-shape before the open house on Wednesday evening for our returning and new students!  Please see inside for a list of ways she can use your help getting it ready on Wednesday morning!
Lastly, Black Forest Together has a chipping project scheduled for tomorrow, August 6th, beginning at 8:45 a.m. with a safety briefing, and ending around 3:30 p.m., weather permitting.  See message below:

I have a chipper operator assigned already, but need some lively crew members to assist with hauling the slash to the chipper.  If you are available for this project — for the entire day or a half day — please let me know by return email.

Attached is the liability waiver form that all volunteers need to sign once each year.  If you haven't done one of these yet in 2016, please print out a copy and bring it with you.

I look forward to hearing from many enthusiastic BFT workers!

Donna Arkowski, Volunteer Coordinator

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday, Communion Sunday, with Rev. Susan!
Have a fantastic weekend!

Car Rental

Hello Everyone,
I am passing along a request from Jen Baker.  If you can help her out, please contact her via email at, or feel free to contact the office and I will pass your message along.

I feel so funny asking this…but I am looking to rent an extra car from someone.  I am having trouble finding a rental while I am getting my car repaired.  They are trying to get my car i on Monday and it will take about three weeks.  I think I have a car for the second week, but not the others.  I am fully insured and have a perfect driving record.  I will pay all gas and mileage and a fair rental price.  The car will be returned cleaned, waxed and vacuumed out.  Clunkers are fine… 😀
